Brett Layser

Currently, Brett Layser is the founder of Jetstream Private Equity Group, LLC, a real estate investment firm focused on acquiring and improving multifamily properties in landlord-friendly growth markets. He is an experienced real estate investor and general partner whose work centers on acquisitions, capital raising, asset management, and investor relations. Brett has invested in real estate since 2002, with experience spanning single-family homes, small multifamily properties, fix-and-flip projects, passive multifamily investing, and active ownership. He is a general partner in a 197-unit Tennessee multifamily portfolio financed through a Fannie Mae agency loan. His real estate approach is supported by more than three decades of aviation and military leadership experience. Brett is currently a Boeing 737 Captain at a U.S.-based major airline. Earlier in his career, he flew the Boeing 747 for Evergreen International Airlines and served as a United States Marine Corps officer and AV-8B Harrier fighter pilot. He later became an advanced jet instructor pilot in the T-45 Goshawk and led approximately 120 Marines. Brett earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado and completed graduate-level studies in aviation safety and aircraft mishap investigation at the Naval Postgraduate School. He brings the same discipline, preparation, risk management, and accountability developed in aviation to the stewardship of investor capital and the operation of multifamily assets.
